Research Expertise and Interest
Research interests include applying biophysical methods to the characterization of thermodynamic and hydrodynamic properties of biological macromolecules and the kinetic, thermodynamic, and stoichiometric components of their interactions with other molecules.
Molecular biology: bacterial cell culture, protein expression, site-directed mutagenesis, protein refolding
Biochemistry: Recombinant bacterial expression and purification of various proteins, including transcription repressors and innate immune receptors; synthesis, purification, and characterization of small organic molecules; isotopic labeling of DNA fragments
Biophysical Methods and Instrumentation: Analytical Ultracentrifugation (AUC), isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), DNaseI footprinting, stopped-flow fluorescence spectroscopy, circular dichroism (CD), matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS), 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Infrared spectroscopy (IR)
