Congratulations 2017 Fresenius Research Prize awardee Karl Deisseroth!

Germany’s Else Kroner-Fresenius Foundation has selected Stanford University professor and Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator Karl Deisseroth to receive the 2017 Fresenius Research Prize. Dr. Deisseroth, who last September delivered the third annual Hector Lopez Memorial Lecture at NIBIB, was honored for achievements in optogenetics, hydrogel-tissue chemistry, and research in depression. The Fresenius Research Prize is awarded every four years and is the world’s largest award in monetary terms for scientific achievement.
