NASA extends a cordial invitation to NIH researchers interested in the research related to the 33 biomedical risks of NASA’s Health Research Program (HRP). The meeting will be held Monday, January 23 through Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Galveston Island Convention Center (GICC) in Galveston, TX. The theme of the Workshop is “A new Dawn—Enabling Space Exploration.” The biomedical research that solves the key problems encountered by deep space exploration has implications not only for NASA’s astronauts but also for the health of humans on Earth.
Dr. Roderic Pettigrew was appointed by Dr. Francis Collins in October 2016 to be the new Liaison to NASA on behalf of NIH. In preparation for a NIH/NASA Partnership, the Galveston Workshop will be of substantial interest to researchers throughout NIH who are already conducting collaborative research with NASA or are contemplating such research.
The agenda and registration information about the Workshop may be found on the registration website, here.
