Dr. Richards-Kortum is a bioengineer addressing global health disparities in low-resource settings by developing point-of-care medical technologies and a new approach to engineering education. A new, inexpensive method for detecting salt concentrations in sweat or other bodily fluids has been developed by biomaterials scientists.
