Program Area:

Mr. Chen had a double major during his bachelor’s program and was awarded degrees in both Applied Chemistry and English Language in 2006 from Shandong Agricultural University, China. He completed requirements for his Master's in Physical Chemistry in 2009 at the College of Life and Environment Sciences at Shanghai Normal University, China, under the supervision of Professor Nengqin Jia, and began working toward his doctorate degree under the supervision of Professor Daxiang Cui that same year. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the National Key Laboratory in Micro/Nano Science and Technology in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, and in December 2010, he began a joint predoctoral fellowship the Laboratory for Molecular Imaging and Nanomedicine (LOMIN) at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) under the supervision of Dr. Shawn Chen. His current research is focused on the development of nanomaterial based on ultrasensitive detection, imaging, and targeted drug delivery for early diagnosis and therapy for clinical applications.
