Chynna Smith received a B.S. in Biology from Washington Adventist University in May of 2020. She is currently a post-baccalaureate IRTA fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Alexander Cartagena-Rivera at NIBIB, in the Section on Mechanobiology. Her research involves investigating the role of mechanical properties in driving cancer progression and metastasis using Atomic Force Microscopy and other imaging methods. Chynna is also an NIH Academy Certificate member where she is learning to address Health Disparities in health care through different research and intervention methods.
