Dr. Jacob Davis received his PhD in BioEngineering in 2023 from the Georgia Institute of Technology, co-advised by Drs. Eberhard Voit and Sam Brown. At Georgia Tech, he studied methods to track cellular populations in real-time and created a Differential Equations-based framework to model cellular interactions in those populations. Prior to his education, Dr. Davis was a paratrooper in the US Army, participating in combat deployments to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division and the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
Dr. Davis now leads the Systems and Computational Biology section of the Trans-NIH BETA Center. In this role, he collaborates with researchers across the NIH, helping with study design, data analysis, and systems modeling. He also hosts student researchers, either through the undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Summer Internship Program (BESIP) or the graduate NSF INTERN program. For collaboration opportunities, reach out through email or through the BETA Center.
