
Michael Burgess II obtained his B.S. in Bioengineering from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC. During his college tenure, he conducted research at several research institutions such as the University of Utah and Wake Forest University. Currently, Michael is a Post-baccalaureate IRTA Fellow in the Section on Mechanics and Tissue Remodeling Integrating Computational & Experimental Systems (MATRICES) Lab in the NIBIB’s intramural research program.
Michael’s research interests include biomedical imaging, sickle cell disease, and regenerative medicine.
