
Niara Botchwey is a Postbaccalaureate IRTA Research Fellow in the Section on Mechanics and Tissue Remodeling Integrating Computational and Experimental Systems (MATRICES) at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB). She earned her B.A. in Biomedical Engineering from Harvard University in Cambridge, MA.
During her undergraduate career, Niara gained extensive research experience across academic laboratories and industry positions. Her roles included a preclinical manufacturing and process development co-op at Regeneron, research in MIT Chemical Engineering's Hammond Lab, a research and development position at Women's Telehealth in Atlanta, research with Morehouse School of Medicine, research with the Perinatal HIV Research Unit in Soweto, South Africa, and research with Georgia Tech's Platt Lab through the Project ENGAGES Program.
Outside of the lab, Niara's hobbies include team sports, reading, and traveling.
