Dr. He received her Ph.D. degree in 2013 from the department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her doctoral dissertation involved the characterization of the structure and energetics of the nanoparticles in fuel cell catalyst layers. In 2014, Dr. He joined NIBIB to develop methods of subsurface imaging of the serial block face scanning electron microscope (SBF-SEM) based on the acquisition of multiple images at different accelerating voltages. She is also working on applying the techniques of scanning transmission electron tomography and SBF-SEM to obtain three-dimensional architecture of macromolecular assemblies.
