Dr. Zhang received his Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Engineering in 2001, and Master's in Chemistry in 2004, both from East China University of Science and Technology. In 2004, he joined Prof. Mark Grinstaff’s research group in Department of Chemistry at Boston University and obtained a Ph.D. degree in 2010. His Ph.D. research has been focused on the chemical synthesis, biophysical characterization, and in vitro evaluation of novel amphiphilic molecules for DNA and siRNA delivery. In 2011, he joined the Laboratory for Molecular Imaging and Nanomedicine (LOMIN) as a NIH/NIST postdoctoral fellow of the Research Associateship Program of National Research Council. His current research involves the development of nanoparticle-based multifunctional agents for cancer theranostics.
