Zhen Yang received his bachelor’s degree in polymer chemistry in 2011 from South-Central University for Nationalities in China. He was then enrolled as a graduate student in the Key Laboratory for Organic Electronics & Information Displays, Institute of Advanced Materials at Nanjing University of Posts & Telecommunications in China. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, studying with Prof. Wei Huang. He joined the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) as a special volunteer research fellow under the supervision of Dr. Xiaoyuan (Shawn) Chen in November 2015. His research is focused on designing and synthesizing novel multifunctional nanomaterials for bio-imaging, drug delivery and cancer therapy, including smart small molecule, macromolecule, polymeric assemblies, nano- and micro-particles.
