The purpose of the NIH research Conference Grant (R13) is to support high quality scientific conferences that are relevant to the NIH's mission and to the public health. A conference is defined as a symposium, seminar, workshop, or any other organized and formal meeting, whether conducted face-to-face or via the Internet, where individuals assemble (or meet virtually) for the primary purpose to exchange technical information and views or explore or clarify a defined subject, problem, or area of knowledge, whether or not a published report results fro such meeting. The NIH recognizes the value to members of the research community and all other interested parties in supporting such forums. Please complete the R13 Acceptance Request Form.

NOTE:  Secondary assignments on R13s do not require approval by NIBIB. Applicants who believe their conference addresses NIBIB's mission are free to request secondary assignment to NIBIB. If there is a decision by the primary IC to fund the application, NIBIB will consider providing secondary support.
